"She was in a brawl.... All we know is that she was hit in the chest, and in the ankle. We aren't sure of anymore injuries so you might want to check." Said the Paramedic to the Doctor at Mount Sanai Hospital.
"Where is she coming from?" The doctor asked.
"We transported her all the way from New Orleans.... We know she is somewhat stable so it wasn't a risk but you need to attend to her right now."
"Okay.... Team lets get her on one of our beds and book her to one of our private rooms. I want her to go to a full body X-Ray. I dont want one inch of her not under X-Ray. Try to wake her and give her some medicine to numb the pain she might be feeling."
"Dr. Hostler, What is her name so I can book her. As well as get her into the system." Asked the nurse. Dr. Hostler looked at the Paramedic who grabbed his clipboard.
"Maraj... Onika Maraj. That's the maiden name that we found on file." He said. After he stated her name the nurse wrote it down and walked over to the desk. The other male nurses came and pulled the helicopter cot next to another bed. They lifted the sheets will lifting her and slid her to the other bigger bed. The Paramedics watch, and then got their cot.
"Okay Team.... Get to what I said while I try to find some family that is related to her." Dr. Hostler said slowly looking around.
"Its about to be a long night...."
"Hello?"
"Umm, Yes. Is this Safaree Samuels?"
"Yes, This is him."
"This is Dr. Hostler from Mount Sanai Hospital. Onika....."
"Wait.... She's in Queens!?"
"Yes Sir. She was transported from New Orleans."
"Oh My God.... I'm on my way." Safaree said before hanging up the phone. He looked over at Tyesha.
"Let's go." He said standing up.
"What the hell you mean 'Lets go.' We got to get to New Orleans where my friend is at..... You know the fuck what Safaree what has gotten into you? Its like you dont care about Nic anymore. What the hell is wrong with you? She used to mean the world to you. She used to be all you cared about. I swear between you two I dont know who is going to kill me first...."
"Tyesha Shut Up! I do care about her. I do love her. No matter what I will always care for her. Even though she hid my baby from me for eight months, and really its seventeen counting the whole pregnancy. Even though she cusses me out. Even though she dont act like she loves me. Even though she says whatever she wants to directed to me. I still love that woman. That is my heart no matter what!" Safaree said looking at Tyesha. "Now, Lets get to the car, and get to Queens. She is at Mount Sanai. They transported her from New Orleans..." Tyesha's face lit up.
"Lauren!!!! Candi!!! Come on!" She yelled grabbing their purses.
"What is it!?!" Candi yelled back getting some snacks.
"Nic is at Mount Sanai. We gotta get there." Candi turned around fast. She saw this big chunky guy sitting on a bench holding his stomach.... She ran over to him.
"You can have this." She said handing him the six bags of chips, two sodas, and three packs of gum. He looked up at her slowly. He saw the Twix bar she had. Candi followed his eyes.
What the hell is she doing?" Safaree said while him, Tyesha, and Lauren looked at her.
"Man, You outta your mind if you think you getting my chocolate. I was being nice." Candi said walking away but she turned around quickly and ran back to the guy.
"Gimme these and have a nice flight." She said snatching the Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream chip bag.
"Candi! Bring your fat ass on. Nika is in the hospital and all you care about is some fucking snacks?!" Tyesha yelled at her when she made it to them.
"I bet they have fed her though. I gotta have my energy when I get there." Candi said in defense.
"No you dont." Tyesha said to her snatching the chips and Twix. She ran away and threw them in the trash. Candi ran to her trying to get them but Safaree walked up behind and picked Candi up.
"To the hospital we got business." He said as she was kicking and whining about her snacks. Lauren played with Alli while laughing at them.
Mount Sanai Hospital
"We here to see Onika Maraj... One of the doctors here called me."
"What is your name?" The receptionist asked.
"Safaree Samuels." She slowly typed his name in the computer.
"It doesn't show that any doctor is waiting for you. Take a seat in the waiting room. Next!"
"Ma'am.... Search her name. Onika Maraj, I know she is in your system."
"Next!"
"Ma'am.... Search her name."
"Next!" The lady said again.
"Help Me Please. This is my fiance'!" Safaree yelled. Tyesha, Lauren, and Candi looked at him while he said that.
"Sir.... I said next!" A security guard came and stood next to Safaree.
"What seems to be the problem?" He asked. Safaree looked over at him.
"You dont have to sneak up on people you mother...."
"Safaree!!!" Tyesha said interjecting and stepping forward. "We got a call from a doctor requesting us. Our family member is here, and we just want to see her." The guard looked at them.
"Okay... I will take one back." He said eyeing Safaree. All of them looked at each other. The girls looked back at each other, and then Tyesha spoke up.
"Take him...." Safaree looked at them in shock.
"No. You go."
"Safaree, Go see her. Make this right. Make yall relationship right. Fix it. Just tell her that we here, and we love her." Safaree hugged Tyesha.
"I always knew I loved you for some weird reason."
"Mhmm... I know too. Now Go!" The guard opened the door with his pass. The double automatic doors flew open, and Safaree walked back. As the door shut Tyesha put her arms over Candi, and Lauren shoulders.
"We just might get them back this time around...."
"NEXT!!!" The receptionist yelled. Tyesha spun around quick.
"Look Here You Bit...." Lauren and Candi tried to grab her while laughing...
"Hostler.... It was Dr. Hostler that called you. He is in there with her now. Come on. I will lead you." The nurse said looking at Safaree while walking.
"By the way, I'm Amy. Her nurse."
"Nice to meet you..." Safaree said shaking her hand. "And just as a question so I dont have any surprises.... How is she?"
"She is okay.... She is making it minus the complications of breathing and a broken ankle. But dont say I told you. I'm not supposed to share information."
"I understand...." He said as they got to the door. Dr. Hostler was walking out with Mama Maraj and Micaiah.
"Safaree..." She said looking at him. She looked distraught, and he wrapped his arms around her.
"I know Mama. She is going to be okay." He said.
"I know that." She said looking up at him. Safaree was always encouraged by Mama Maraj's faith. She wiped her face of the tears, and rubbed his back. She walked off toward the chapel in the hospital.
"Well, I'm going to let you guys talk. Micaiah can fill you in on everything that I told them." Dr, Hostler said before walking away into another room. Micaiah looked at Safaree and pulled him away from the door to the sitting area.
"Look Safaree.... I am so pissed right now."
"Why Caiah?" Safaree asked looking him.
"Now, I'm only sixteen but I will kill someone when it comes to my big sister. Onika is like my second mom, and I be damned if I let someone get away with hurting her." Safaree looked at Caiah and saw the anger so he let him slide with the cussing but made a mental note to correct him later.
"What are you talking about?"
"That punk ass Drake guy did this. I got a call from Chuck, and he said that Diamond said they was talking, and he whispered something to Nic. After he did she pushed him hard, and kicked him in the balls. So after that he grabbed her foot, and punched her ankle. She lifted her other foot, and kicked him in the face. He them balled his fist up and punched her in the chest. She hit the ground, and fainted out. Keyera and Tyga got to her, while Marco was fighting Drake. Then Drake's bodyguards got involved and some other ones jumped in to help Marco. It was a big ass brawl. Marco and Tyga was shot but they good. But right now I want Drake ass handled!" Safaree felt a rage light within him....
"Dont worry. Drake will get his. Call Jelani and tell him to meet me at Nic house. I am going to tell your Mom we leaving. You stay here with her to comfort her."
"No Safaree. I want to come."
"Micaiah.... I need you to work with me."
"But I want a part in this."
"This is grown man business. We got this but I promise you that he is going to get his, and I'll give him a message from you."
"Ooookay. Fine." Caiah said looking down. Safaree saw that same anger look that Nicki gets in his eyes. Safaree pulled him into a man hug.
"No, You go do what I said."
"Alright..." Safaree watched him walk off, and he went into the room where Nicki was. He walked in slowly, and walked over to the bed. The room was dark, and warm. Safaree felt his heartbreak as he looked at her. He needed to make this visit quick for now. He walked up to the bed, and kissed her forehead.
"He gonna get his baby... I promise that." Safaree said just before he kissed her on the lips. He leaned up and looked at her one last time just before he pulled the covers up on her, and walked out the room.
Safaree walked out from the back, and ran right into Candi, Lauren, and Tyesha. Safaree now had this revenge look in his eyes, and who saw it was Candi.
"Safaree.... Caiah told us what happened. Please dont do anything bad. Look at your daughter." Safaree looked at Alli sleep in Candi's arms.
"I love my baby..... But he aint getting away with this." Caiah walked up to them.
"Jelani said that he is on his way."
"Alright.... See yall." Safaree said before walking out the doors into the crisp air.
